I passed my foundation exam and despite having a fire in my flat, computer failure and being under serious financial pressure I came through it all to achieve my goal. Since doing my course non of my colleagues knew how much I knew about website design. When my Cheif Executive found this out I was given a 4 month secondment within the IT Department within the company. I am now help to create websites for our clients and also creating the new company website. I have also been ask to create some Flash images which is one of my favourite areas I have studied in my course. I am also project managing a system to reduce the work load of the accounts department. If I can prove how excited I am about creating the websites I hope I get offered to take on more. I'm extremely delighted that I have successfully completed the CCNP certification requirements and became CCNP certified. I have personally found the courses very hard but I have achieved the last 4 tma at 100%, have also been offered a new job role at my company after they found out I was taking the courses I am very happy to have commenced this course. At 40 I have been in the Electrical/Electronics Industry for 20 years but work wasn't always available and decided to take a change of direction in my career. I think my Tutor marked assignments have been very good, since I have started doing the A+ course. I have now completed part A and B of Essentials and Enterprise technician and waiting to do the two exams. I am currently doing N+ part B; I have already completed part A. Once I have worked through the tutor marked assignments for N+ I will then attempt the exam. Then I can start the CCNA part of the course, which for me this main and most important part. Before taking on this course, I had very good understanding about computer. However with good progression I have learnt a great deal about the core of computing and networking. My knowledge and understanding of computer is better now, I feel confident enough to teach other about computers. I have been working a 50 hour week in a busy IT department in Stockport, Manchester as well as working 20 hours a weekend in a bar doing pub work to fund my course. Despite all of the working hours I have still managed in the last month to have submitted 6 TMA's with none scoring less than 90%. After being diagnosed with cancer l thought that was the end of everything including my capability of studying. The only thing that keeps me going even if l suffer a lot from chemotherapy side effects is my College Course as it is the only thing that gives me a reason to want to live even more. This month l have passed with an average of 92%. I have faced some serious problems in last two months and my studies were totally freezed due to the reason that I went to Pakistan because my mother got serious arm fracture.I was not in a position to leave as I already lost my job. I was in financial crises as well and at some stage I thought I wont be able to continue my studies. But thanks to Skills Train College and CDF who supported me alot and encouraged me to continue my course. After a long break of about two months I again started sending my TMAs and now I have covered all that time which was lost and managed to complete three assignments in 10 days.I am enjoying these studies now and will encourage my friends to join Skills Train because of there dedication and support I have got. I passed my A+ about a month ago with about 90% in the second of the two exams...I have also had several opportunities to implement what I have learnt, fixing problems on my own system and my girlfriend's laptop. Friends and coworkers now regularly come to me with their PC problems. And all this from knowing virtually nothing about PC hardware or troubleshooting. I am now working hard on my N+ course...I am on the second book already and have been achieving regular scores on my TMAs of between 90 and 100 percent. I am very proud of these achievements as I am currently working 6 to 7 days a week and so have very little spare time to study! In the time I have been studying with the skills train I have managed to find myself a full time job which is 40 hours a week and also managed to complete 3 TMA's with a degree of ease. I just thought l would give myself a pat on the back, as l think my results so far on my Tutor Marked assignments have been really good, at the start of the course l wondered what l had let myself in for, l had a keen interest in the subject but have never attended College or Uni and all my computer skills are self taught, being a more mature student l did wonder how much would sink in, but l think the old brain is coping, I have found that l have had the confidence to help someone at work who is using a GUI to update the website, before this course l wouldn't have even known what a GUI was let alone talk about it. I know l still have along way to go, but l am hoping with what l have learnt so far that l will be able to pass my first exam and continue to achieve a high standard. Hi, I have just got my very first TMA back and I was very pleased to find that I
