I just wanted to say that I really find it hard to find time to study after my work.
I am working as a care assistant and it involves physical hardwork and stress through the whole day. I still found time to study and very successfully completed my two parts of TMA with really high score. 95% and 98% and I submitted my third one today.

And I feel really proud of myself, and I learned a lot of new information on Windows 2000. I hope I can take the exam soon.

Although I have started this course later than I should have, I have been given ample support and help and have achieved far more in a shorter space of time than I could have imagined when setting out. I May not be a suitable candidate, but it is not for the want of trying.

Then at 45, and with a first degree in Mathematics and Statistics but without any knowledge at all in Computing, I felt I was being left behind in this Computer era. I therefore took a courageous decision to do a degree course in Computing to become abreast with the times. Accordingly, in September 2004, I enrolled at the Peterborough Regional College to do a three-year degree course in Computing and Information Systems.
Suddenly finding myself among students who already knew well beyond the basics in computing, I realised the enormity of the task that lay ahead of me. I have had to work extremely hard to be able to move along at the pace at which the class has been moving. And I have had to combine this with part-time work. Though I have a family, the rest of the members are not here with me and this means that all other errands have had to be run by myself. It has not been easy at all but I'm persevering.
Now at 47 and in the final year of the degree course (finishing in June 2007), I still feel I need more consolidation of the concepts in order to build more confidence, hence my decision to enrol onto this course, which appears to me to have a considerable element of practicals.
I'm still under pressure from the degree programme but I'm managing my time appropriately to be able to conveniently take this course alongside. So far I'm moving on well and enjoying it.

I probably need to be a student for a while to get this, well I just started my ccna I have previously done a course on management of information systems. I got married in kenya just in December 2006 my wife is a full time student at leicester college hence she doesnt work thats why I have been force to take a home learning course so that I can continue with my work where I work as a support worker supporting three residents with learning disability, I do shift work so I try and do my work before or after work so far am doing well at it and managing though its tight on time as my wife doesnt work. I am getting on well with the course material provided and doing well with my TMA'S with the last one having scored 100percent. am giving it my best with the course and hope that I will sucessfully complete it.

During January I have managed to complete 5 TMAs for my course, while I have been juggling with a new job which is 12 hour days (6-6) on a rotating shift basis (including weekends). I have also been helping my fiancee's eldest daughter with her maths for school (has anyone seen the way they have to do it now?).
On top of this, my ex-wife has told me that my 2 daughters no longer want to see me, as I was unable to see them one weekend due to the hours of my new job, so it looks like I am now going to have legal bills pending for an access case.
Despite this I still made sure I carried on with my course, as I am looking at the bigger picture and know the qualifications I gain (N+ and CCNA) will lead to a better life for my family and myself.

I work full time and also work on weekends to finance my skillstrain course. There is very little time in the evening I get to study and finish my assignments. I had to submit my assignments twice earlier and I decided that I will pass my assignments in the first time itself and after that I have not submit any assignment second time again. Then I set the target of submitting the assignment the same day when I would receive the result of the previous assignment and I am delighted to say that I have been able to do that. I have managed to achieve 100% a couple times as well. I really need a computer to help me study for the Cisco certification at home for which I currently go to the University IT lab, the reason why I am participating in this competition. I wish if this competition changes my life.

To be a Family man and Student at the same time is hard. Ialmost thought of giving up the course following the loss of my wife's job in NHS England and had to relocate to Scotland. Within a month when I am thinking things are about to settle down, my wife had a miscarriage and I had to concentrate in nursing her and taking care of my daughter whilst at the same time I had to sit for my MSc Exams in Computer Security & Auditing and submit assignments and CISCO need to be done...!! I have passed assignments and I am now back on track with CISCO......I am very Happy. I have also got a job to help a blind student to do his MSc Dessertation....!!!!

I have just recently started to study again after many year. I have a 7 month old baby and I work almost 7 days a week and I found it hard at first.
I decided to set myself a target to how much I would study in the first week I set my self a target of 1 hour a day as I did not have the time.
As time went on I kept setting myself targets but did not meet them until recently.
This month I am proud to say that I have met all the targets I set myself and I now study around 3 hours a day it was hard at first and it took a while for me to get where I am today being busy with the baby and work. I feel I have achieved a great deal this month and I actually look forward to comming home from work and sitting down and I enjoy the 3 hours of learning every day.
If anybody ever tells you that you cant do anything in life they are wrong and I am glad to say that people who said to me that studying would be a waste of time and cost to much I can now prove them wrong as I am really achieving something that I never though I would do it took lots of hard work and patients but I finally got there
Thanks

If student of the month is to reward students that have achieved academically above expectations then there is no one how could say honestly that I do not merit this award. You see when I was 4 years old I was diagnosed with a brain tumour, and was told that I would never be abele to go to a mainstream school never mind college university complete the A+ with goals of completing the MCAS. Why should I be student of the month? Well if that's not enough I've never had less than 70% on any of the tutor marked assessments and have an average of 90%. that is why I should be student of the month.
