Passed both A+ exams I have found this a very useful course as I want to complete this course then once I have finished and passed the course I plan to start up my own business build & repairing computers as well as upgrading them. Hi I'm pleased to say 2010 has started well, I'm settled in a permanent job and recently became engaged to my partner of 7 years. I've also finished my first professional website for a family member and have had a few offers of more work. I'm in a happy place at the moment and hopefully that continues. I've just done TMA 19 and I got 100 % so I'm happy at some time it hard but I done it - I got 100% I started skills train a while ago with reasonable knowledge of computers in general after studying with them for a while I noticed I was learning more during my study time. I applied for an IT Network Support role and have now been working as a network support technician for 2 years. I find the course very beneficial to me and the information is always to hand. My employers support me and are happy that I'm studying at home so they can see I'm making an effort to further my career. I find Skills Train goes into more depth than most work places which is great as in your everyday working environment you might not be required to know things in great dept. But with the skills train you can. I look forward to the end of my coarse so I can then take another one :) Although it took me longer than I had planned, I have now passed the A+ qualification and am now on to the N+ part of the course. The weeks and weeks of revision over Christmas ad the willpower to do well have really made it worth it! To start of I new nothing to do about computers.I have just completed my pc hardware and maintenance part a which I have achieved not to bad results.I am already trying to fix peoples computers they are not major issues but its a starting point. I find it hard to study with my current work commitments but I find I am putting more effort into my studying than at work.I hope to achieve a lot more from my studying and hopefully get a career to be proud of. It's been a busy few months. I've managed to get knee deep into the HTML and using the knowledge I've created a better functioning site for my animation showreel. I have started work for a plastic factory in my home town in November 2005 through the agency. My first few months I thought how the hell am going to learn this job and stop packing. Packing in my factory is the most boring job ever. Anyway, I have tried hard and I have done so many homework's, we have almost 10 injection moulding machines. To be a setter was always my aim and goal. Every day before going to home I wrote notes and anything was on the machines control panel , after keep trying and hard work with a lot of research, I have been nominated to join a course in Telford, to be an injection moulding setter. Fortunately , because of my desired for the job and learning, I passed very easy, and now I am a setter, I really enjoy my job, also because of the software on the control panel, and am doing my MCSE so I am confident. My current job involves shift work including weekends which gives me very little social time and opportunity to progress on my course. In 2006 I developed pneumonia and was hospitalised for some time. Complications have resulted in me struggling to walk around my flat. As a result the most mundane of tasks often prove to be serious challenges as my mobility is so seriously impaired. I completed my A+ coursework despite having limited time to due to work commitments over the last month, reducing my study time to roughly 8-10 hours per week. I also managed to repair my old Pc which refused to boot from the hard disk. I cobbled together a recovery disk and managed to boot it from where I troubleshooted the problem and repaired it! Never thought I could achieve such a result but thanks to this course,it was relatively straight-forward. My understanding of PC's is now very broad.
