IT JUST GOES TO SHOW WHAT YOU CAN DO WITH SKILLSTRAIN AS ALL THE TUTORS ARE VERY SUPPORTIVE AND WILL GIVE YOU ALL THE HELP THAT'S POSSIBLE.

AND GIVE YOU WEBSITES THAT ARE ACE AND WHEN YOUR FEELING LOW GIVE YOU ALL THE HELP AND SUPPORT TO BE ABLE TO KEEP GOING THROUGH ALL THE TROUBLES UPS AND DOWNS THAT LIFE THROWS AT YOU.

JUST GOES TO SHOW THAT IF I CAN DO THIS AND I HAVE NOT DONE IT FOR YEARS THAT ANYONE CAN DO IT.

SO LIVE YOUR DREAMS AND THEY WILL COME THROUGH.

I`ve been with Skills Train for last two years. I don`t have much time for studies, but I keep pushing myself to continue the course and I think I`ll be able to finish it by the end of this year. With the knowledge I`ve gained so far, I`ve managed to set up my home network - I`ve enabled firewall to make network more protected and I`ve set up some rules and exclusions and enabled port forwarding to make some programs run properly. I`ve also repaired my friend's laptop - I`ve replaced faulty hard drive, reinstalled Windows, installed antivirus, set up Windows Mail and explained him how it works. That was a valuable experience and I look forward for other ways to apply obtained knowledge.

Lately I have little problem with doing my home work, but when I called my tutor to complain about it . he explained it to me in a very understandable way.

then he sent me a write up recorded CD to further clarify his teaching.

My greatest achievement so far is…As a favour for my sister and her husband I agreed to design them a website free of charge, which I have now uploaded to the internet. It's taken a while, a lot of hard work and has been a steep learning curve but well worth the effort. Using knowledge I have gained from Skills Train mixed with new skills I have taught myself along the way I have opened my mind so much. I have learned the process of designing a website from start to finish from setting up a domain name and web host to uploading it. I know I still have a long way to go but I have to start somewhere and it's all experience.

I have finished section 1 part b of a+ and pass an ECDL course as well as moving house and keeping up with a BTEC in PC engineering course

I am over 40 and before I took this course I didn't have much hope for employment in this modern world, when I left school computers were not used. I am now self employed in the computer industry and this course has given me a new life. I always thought that when you got to my time in life you sat and watched the younger generation move forward in this technical age but not now thanks to the skill train course.

I thought I knew a fair bit about computers but this course proved me that I needed refreshment on the areas that I wasn't sure of. So while I have been struggling with some of the areas (to name a few Command Prompts I am on at current and is taking some time), I am able to fly through the areas I know reasonably well and spend time on the areas I'm not so sure on.

In the beginning before I enrolled for the CIW course I was already a freelancer designer but after enrolling for this course it has given me so much confident in what I do and gained an excellent understanding. I've studied very hard to achieve an outstanding marks throughout my course period and managed to increase more and more my TMA assignments since then. I am very proud of what I am doing and skills train have helped me a lot throughout the course.

Due to work commitments and only getting 2 hours study a night when I get home, I did not think that I could do this, but to do three assignments and get 100% for each of them is a big achievement for me.

I believe that I have been working very hard which is reflecting on my assignment, most of them I have scored 100%.

My achievements would be, being able to balance my work life as I'm working towards a higher position, my skills-train work and my home family life. As I was not able to do this before because I would too much time on one task while ignoring my other responsibility. So I made up a schedule so that I can have enough time to work with each task, which has worked.

I am working hard on the last TMA in section 2 part B of CIW course. Still recovering from serious whiplash injuries on top of an already serious neck problem, life has been difficult to say the least. 9 years of mental health problems and you have one wreck of a human being. I have learnt that laughing and learning are the cure to any problem you have in life. Learning PERL has brought me many hours of confusion and contentment passing each TMA as I go, and hysterical laughter as I treat myself to video clips of funny comedians such as Lee Evans e.t.c. as a reward for passing. I am keen to progress and am still amazed by the fact that I actually start understanding these scripting language codes as I go too. I just want to say that if anyone is struggling try comedy as a release of pressure, the energy you get back from laughing is very inspiring, then take a deep breath of fresh air and you will be re-energised and raring to get on. I wish there was an open forum here where you could exchange support for each other. Good luck everyone keep smiling.

In my first 2 assignments I achieved 95% and 92%. I have been studying for 3 weeks now and have also managed to rectify 2 problems. One was a very noisy desk top which I took apart and cleared all the dust from. The second was my partners laptop that ran very slow on the internet. I am really enjoying what I have achieved to date. As they say from small acorns grow mighty oaks.
