I've been doing my A+ and N+ course since the 2nd March 2009 and I have completed three of my assignments and got good scores on my tma's, although it took me two attempts on my 3rd, I'm half way through my 4th now and I feel I have gained plenty of knowledge about I.T. I am growing with confidence day by day.

The reason why these are achievements are because I've not been in education for 5 years and even when I was at school I hardly learnt for various reasons so this is the first piece of education that I have really been driven to do well and now already feeling the benefits. I am in full time work and I make sure even after a full day at work I get some studying done. To make sure I am taking everything in I am not rushing I am going over everything patiently and I have my own folder where I am noting everything I'm learning in each assignment thoroughly in my own words so I understand everything. Not only that, I also opened up a computer to understand fully where all the components were, which gave me significant help in understanding the fundamentals of a computer.

Hope my application impresses you because I feel I have really achieved a lot this month and I will continue to do so.

Thank You

I left school with no exams results, not many jobs around with no exams but dead end jobs.I now have 4 kids one of them is autistic,so finding time to study was hard but just two hours a night when they are all in bed I find the time to do something about not having a good job and the money to that goes with it. it
is now less of a dream and more realistic I have just finished my first part of my i.t course and is the first time in my life that I had ever got 100% in anything im so happy I could cry thank you so much with helping me do something which has changed my life already

I am a full time nurse, mother of 2 children with both professional responsibilities as well as family commitments. I can't say that I am a DUMMY for the computer. but I am sure a FLEDGLING in computers. When I started the course, I was sceptical and it increased more as I was doing my Section I in C# programming, the mere fact was that how I was going to learn the art of programming just with loads of theory input. I have started my Section II last week and I do really appreciate the way the subject flows and the links made to the previous topics and yet teaching you the basics of programming. I am coming out of the fear now and I no longer exist in NO MAN'S LAND.

Hi,
First, I want to thank Skills Train for giving me a lot of information about web design. I know, I'm not very good student, but its only that I'm working 24hrs a day and have a little time for my self, including studies.
But I created some nice websites including www.pajurishotel.lt , www.bhamlietuviai.org (still waiting for content from client) , www.markglennphotographs.co.uk (this site was my first, thats why it looks a bit wrong. I like layout its unique and clean in three weeks time I will re-allign it, and build a CMS using joomla). I have done few eCommerce sites also, but for some reasons can't tell which.
Also I have my own unfinished site called www.zoom-media.co.uk (still working on it).
This is it.
Take care. ;)

Well I've been studying the course for nearly 3 months now and have to admit to finding it not all plan sailing. Despite the fact I already work in IT and consider myself to have a very solid knowledge of most IT areas. So I have taken the plunge as they say when I started this course. Because I was in the middle of buying my first property with my partner .I had drastically changed the area I was working in so that I could start building a future for my partner and I .and, I hoped, peruse an interest in web design which I have wanted to do for a few years now and then I go and sign up for this course, which I was expecting to be challenging at best!
So I have spent these winter months either studying or trying to get to grips with a completely new industry at work and endlessly packing or dealing with mortgage papers etc etc. now I feel I am coming out on the other side to a certain degree. I have bought and moved into my first home. A promotion at work has certainly made me feel I have managed to successful meet the new alien tasks required from my bosses and then came the day I had my first exam!
To say I was nervous would be an understatement. I told my partner that I would be "unavailable" all weekend because I was revising and suggested she make plans and leave me to get my head down. She did and I was able to spend a full two days revising trying to cram all these new terms and techniques into my tired brain. I only stopped for calls of nature and sustenance. then came the day! I arrived early to give me time to read my notes but there were still things that I could not seem to recall when tested. There was nothing for it was just going to have to dive in and hope for the best.
Success!! I passed with 86%
So here I am still pushing still juggling everything but with all my previous trials behind me. I'm confident I can meet anything head on.
Thanks for reading.

I have been studying with Skillstrain for 6 months now and have had ups and downs. I was expecting it to be hard going; there wouldn't be any point if it wasn't as with most things.
I made a decision to change my job drastically and moved into a completely different area compared to what I was doing. I was fortunate to have a helpful workplace that was keen for me to advance but it is hard going. I was also trying to buy my first property in difficult financial times so that my partner and I could finally have our own place and start building towards the future. Then what do I do? I sign up for a course I know is going to be hard and time consuming but allows me to fulfil a dream I have had for a number of years.
So I have spent these winter months trying to get to grips with things in a new workplace, packing and dealing with endless paperwork for finance and buildings insurance etc etc and then I have had to fit my studying in! not to mention perhaps having a social life at some point? Well the social life has not been an option.
Here I am 6 months later I have moved into my new place and unpacked all the boxes and bags and made it feel like home. I have been given a promotion at work and feel this is proof that I am fulfilling my tasks and gaining confidence and this has been rewarded. I've even managed to get a little bit of that social life I have heard so much about!
Then came my first exam! The weekend before I told my partner I was unavailable all weekend and she should make plans and leave me to it. So she did, and I revised for two days stopping only to meet calls of nature and get food and drink. The rest was study. I tried to cram all these new techniques and anachronism in to my tired brain.
To say I was nervous come the exam days would be and understatement! I arrived early to read through my notes before hand but it was no good despite all the revision there were still areas I just could not recall when tested. I really thought I would have felt more prepared after having studied for a whole weekend but there I was. I decided there wasn't much more I could do so I went in to face the thing I had been dreading for the past 6 months.
Success!! I passed with 89%. I couldn't believe it! When I needed the answer to a question it was there ready and I had come out the other side.
So now I look forward to more stressful weekends and doubts about my ability's but safe in the knowledge that I can take these trails head on and survive against the odds.
Thanks for reading.
