Although I started off with doing course a bit late, I have had keen interest in it since I started reading the first section. Whatever I learn from the book in sense of practical or theory knowledge I tend to teach it to my mum and dad who had no clue about using a computer and now they can edit a html file without much difficulties. I have been doing the CIW course for just one month and have already completed 3 tma assignments, which I have got 97% for the first 90% for the 2nd and 93% for the third. I have just handed in my fourth assignment today and hoping that I can achieve the same grades, if not better. I am enjoying the course thoroughly and find the materials very informative. The grades which I have achieved have spurred me on, and given me more motivation. It is very early stages yet but, I know I can do this !!! For two weeks I have struggled with a certain part of my course, I have perciviered with it and through pure determination I have found that certain things on my computer was disabled/enabled due to my computer running on Vista, I found a very interesting site(iis7) that has shown me what to do, and my computer only has iis6, so now I can hopefully carry on with the rest of this chapter, I did e-mail my tutor when I found this and was very happy when Vince let me know I was correct and thanked me for informing him on this site. I am feeling proud with myself for this and I also feel that it has given me more confidence with this course. I have been unable to continue with my studies for the past 8 months due a severe nerve pain condition developing in my neck and back. It has been so distracting and finding answers to the problem is very difficult. I have just undergone an MRI scan and await the results. The pain is just about manageable now due to having the right combination of pain killers and anti-inflammatory drugs, but has left me fighting drowsiness. I am determined to get back on track with my course, and am now studying again. When I can stay awake, in short stints is best. It is very hard to get motivated when studying by yourself, but it helps a great deal to know that you have the backup of a good teaching team and support network at skills train. I will overcome this set back and succeed, and want to encourage everyone else studying under difficult circumstances to not give up, but believe in what you are doing and you will succeed, I always look around the world at problems far greater than mine to level me and focus me on how lucky I am to be where I am and doing what I am doing, the internet is making the world a smaller place, you are never alone and there is always answers available at the end of the line at skills train. Good luck fellow students. I will have completed Part A of my Foundation this month with the following marks: When I started this course I saw the section 1 part A and thought that I would never be able to even do the first TMA but after studying I had a few hiccups (had to re-submit TMA 02 and TMA 03) I only got 58% on TMA 03 so I sat down and re studied the 2 lessons several times and after submitting it for the second time I got 93%!!! I was amazed and it had brought my confidence back up and I am determined to complete section 1 part A by the end of January 2009! and hopefully the entire course by January 2010!! As a result of taking the course, I have started my own web design company as a self employed person. I am just coming to the end of completing the first book Section 1 part a. Am very proud to on this course because I found it so interesting and I was honoured with the current job am doing, I therefore discovered that IT is a world recognise profession. Despite a very demanding job as a Broadcast Systems Manager...I am managing to balance my social and educational responsibilities very well. I expect to finish my N+ course in good time and since starting I am ready to hand in TMA03.... Has scored some pretty good scores on assignments and has nearly finished the CCNA.
